TdS: GLOBAL WARMING.

(O) 1. What is global warming?

(M) Global warming refers to an average increase in the Earth's temperature, which in turn causes changes in climate. A warmer Earth may lead to changes in rainfall patterns, a rise in sea level, and a wide range of impacts on plants, wildlife, and humans.

(M) 2. What is the process involved in the greenhouse effect?

(O) Scientists agree that the burning of fossil fuels like oil and coal cause greenhouse gases to escape into the air and that these gases are causing most of the warming. Another cause is deforestation (cutting down trees). Trees soak up carbon dioxide, one of the greenhouse gases, from the air.

(O) 3. What signs warn us about global warming?

(M) There are already some changes happening because of global warming. Sea level is rising and some animals are already moving to new homes. It’s already too late to stop global warming completely.

(M) If the warming gets worse, as scientists expect, there may be some kinds of plants and animals that become extinct (disappear completely) because they can’t move to new homes. There may be more storms and floods. Sea level may rise so much that people have to move away from the coasts. Some areas may become too dry for farming.

(M) 4. Can you quote another term for global warming?

(O) Greenhouse effect.

(O) 5. Watch the video and explain this idea: Global warming: panic or reality?

(O) Reality because the planet is died. One day, everything will disappear.

Oral presentation: Music

ORAL PRESENTATION: Music

Greetings:

Ok, let's get started. Good morning, everybody. My name's Clàudia and my friend is Maria. We're students at Casa Nostra School.
Today we're going to talk about classical music.

Introduce your talk:

What music do you normally listen? (bla bla bla...)

General explanation:

First, we’re going to talk about our music and school of music in Banyoles. After that, Maria’s going to explain some ideas about the violin. Next, Claudia’s going to explain some ideas about the clarinet. And finally we’re going to talk about some facts of music. (diapositiva portada).

Main body:

We study at EMMB (Escola Múnicipal de Música de Banyoles) and we play classical music. Maria plays the violin and Clàudia plays the clarinet. (diapositiva) We play with the JOB (Jove Orquestra de Banyoles). There are a lot of instruments: violins, one viola, flutes, clarinets, cellos, trumpets and saxophones. Our director is Càndid Rodríguez. He's dynamic but sometimes he is very serious. (diapositiva).
At the concerts he's very funny because he moves hands and legs a lot. You'll see this now. (video)

VIOLIN:
The violin is an string instrument.
It's a wooden musical instrument with four strings which are held against the neck and played by moving a bow across the strings.
In all orchestras there are violins. The violin is the instrument which carries the main melody.
Here you can see the parts of a violin: (diapositiva)

CLARINET:
A tube-shaped musical instrument which is played by blowing through a single reed and pressing the metal keys to produce different notes in woodwind family. There are a extended family of clarinets:

- Piccolo clarinet.
- Sopranino clarinet.
- Soprano clarinet (this is the one I play).
- Bass clarinet.
- Alto clarinet.
- Contra – alto clarinet.
- Contrabass clarinet.

Here you can see the parts of clarinet:
(diapositiva)

Woody Allen is a well-known filmmaker whose passion is playing the clarinet in a band. Sometimes he has given up collecting film awards in a ceremony if he had a musical meeting to play with his band.

Conclusion:

What’s your opinion about music? (diapositiva final)

Megazine I love english Plastic bags or paper bags?

Plastic bags are now banned in many European countries.
Over 500 billion bags are used around the world ever year.
Most plastic bags are buried underground, where they stay from 400 to 1.000 years.
Plastic bags also pollute the oceans.

Paper bags a lot of energy and chemicals are used to make and recycle paper bags.

first conditional

Using the first conditional

The first conditional is used to talk about things which are possible in the present or the future — things which may happen:

Example:

If it's sunny, we'll go to the park.
Paula will be sad if Juan leaves.
If you cook the supper, I'll wash the dishes.

Megazine. Tokio Hotel

Shhh!
It's a secret

That's how long a woman can keep a secret! A study of 3,000 women also found that 40 per cent cannot keep a secret at all - even if it is personal or confidential!
Women tell different secrets to their boyfriends, husbands, best friends and their mothers!

A ghost story

I was walking around the river with my friend Alba, near to the sementary.
When we say a man walking in the middle of the trees in a forest. He was a ghost!
We were frightened and we ran to my house.
I asked to my mum and she answered that he was a man who lived in a log cabin next to the river, one day rained a lot and there was a flood and his log cabin was destroyed, and the man and his family died in the flood. He’s still looking for his family.
That it was two years ago and I never came back there.
